Pervaze Jan
Specialist Optometrist / Director
Pervaze is our Director and a specialist independent prescribing Optometrist. Pervaze completed his optometry degree at Aston University in 2001 and has worked for many multiple-site and independent opticians.
He co-founded Direct Eyecare in 2009 with his partner,
he is responsible for all aspects of optometry
and improving diagnostic techniques.
As an independent prescribing optometrist, Pervaze can offer an extensive range of ocular medicine advice and supply prescriptions for eye-related disorders, which he thoroughly enjoys. He was one of the first to qualify in Wales as a specialist in ocular therapeutics. He also holds the WECS accreditation and is qualified to supply low vision aids. He is focused on providing the best for his patients whilst looking after their eye health. With our cutting-edge 3D imaging equipment and Pervaze’s specialist understanding of eye conditions, patients concerned about their eye health can be confident that they are in very capable hands.
Aqueela Jan
Managing Director
Aqueela is our Managing Director, she is a graduate and has a background in healthcare, working primarily in the NHS before becoming the co-founder of Direct Eyecare in 2009. Aqueela is ambitious and drives forward ideas whilst always looking to implement new ways of delivering outstanding customer value and service. She thoroughly enjoys handling day-to-day operations including buying spectacles for the business, keeping up with new trends.
Aqueela is skilled at interpreting data and analyzing patterns of the business, she loves to compile insightful reports always looking for improvements for staff and customers of Direct Eyecare alike. Aqueela is adept at putting in place systems and structures needed to ensure there is a firm foundation to drive and manage success.
She is passionate about both business performance and people development and support in equal measure, she coaches her team to achieve high standards in a competitive industry whilst looking after their wellbeing.
Sylwia Musialek Accounts Manager
Sylwia joined Direct Eyecare in September 2013 and enjoys all aspects of accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow through the delivery of top quality financial and management information. She has completed her accounting degree at MET University.
As a key member of the team, Sylwia takes care of the company’s accounts and finances. She has a passion for problem-solving and gaining new skills.
Kayleigh Blackshaw
Practice supervisor.
Kayleigh is a valuable member of our team and has a wealth of knowledge of all things optical. Kayleigh is happy to help in any way she can - she enjoys seeing patients and taking the time to discuss the different lens options available ensuring the frame and prescription are best suited to your needs all whilst keeping you up-to-date on fashion trends. Tom Baird
Optometrist
Tom started his optical career as an optical assistant and lab technician, Tom is now an Optometrist with us at Direct Eyecare.
Tom relocated from Northern Ireland to undertake his studies at Cardiff University. Tom is WECS accredited and is able to see and manage certain minor eye conditions within the practice. Tom is highly professional and believes in providing the highest level of customer care to all of his patients.
Kayleigh Blackshaw

Margaret Joyce & Joy Watlow
Receptionists
Margaret and Joy are the smiling front of house faces of our Stapleton Road practice. They are on hand to help with all queries and book appointments, they joined Direct Eyecare in 2013.
Between them they have over 50 years of optical experience, so you're in safe hands.
Leanne Grieve
Optical Advisor
Leanne joined Direct Eyecare in January 2021 after relocating from Scotland.
Leanne enjoys all aspects of her position, especially pre-screening. Leanne is competent in all aspects of dispensing glasses and enjoys spending time with her patients to find the best-suited options for their visual needs.
Styles and trends are forever changing and that also applies to eyewear, Leanne is always looking for the newest optical trends.
Holly Jenkins
Trainee - Optical Advisor
As a trainee Optical Assistant Holly has brought her valued retail & customer service knowledge to meet the caring values and optical expertise of the team at Direct Eyecare. Holly is always making sure every patient receives the best care in our stores.
Aleena Khan
Locum Optometrist
Aleena started with Direct Eyecare as a trainee optical assistant in 2013. Aleena is now a fully qualified optometrist. She is also WECS accredited. Aleena has recently relocated to London. However, when she is back in Cardiff she is here to provide our patients with the best level of patient care.
Mareia Langdon
Locum Optical Advisor
Mareia started with Direct Eyecare in 2016. She now works with us as a Locum dispenser.
